The crew of Old Homosassa Snorkeling Center, LLC provides one of the best scallop charters in Citrus County. Captain Gene and Captain Traci have been conducting Gulf Charters for over 37 years combined. They treat their guests like family, not just like customers.

Jump aboard their 23’ Hurricane deck boat, freshly overhauled in 2018. Its 250 HP Yamaha engine ensures a top cruising speed of up to 30 knots, so you’ll reach the best scalloping grounds in a jiffy. The boat comes with the best safety gear, GPS, VHF radio, and it’s wheelchair accessible.

Scalloping is a great way to have a fun day out with your family and all ages are welcome too. It’s also great for corporate events. You can take up to 6 guests on this fantastic water adventure. What makes these trips unique and fun is that they’re available for a limited amount of time, from July 1st until September 23rd. Scallops are found and picked up by hand in 4-5 feet of water.

The price includes the use of snorkeling gear. If you want to purchase your own snorkeling equipment, the captains suggest arriving 30 minutes earlier. However, the prices do not include the cleaning of your catch. The average cost is $5 per gallon, and the cleaning is done by the locals on the docks of boarding. The maximum of scallops is 10 gallons per boat, or 2 gallons per person, whichever is lesser.

But that’s not all. Not only that Old Homosassa Snorkeling Center, LLC will provide you with a great scalloping experience, but you will also get to see monkeys, manatees, and some dolphins.
